Touchless Menu

Driftaway Cafe=Sandfly Georgia

This past week my husband and I went to lunch at one of our favorite seafood restaurants in Savannah, the Driftaway Cafe. The fresh seafood, coastal decorum, good music, and patio seating make it a good choice.

When the server came to our table we had an unexpected change. Instead of paper menus, they now set a card with a QR code on the table. Access to their menu is with the cell phone that you hold over it. This is just another change that will carry on there and many other places after the pandemic. It was fine for me but not sure it will be pleasing to all.

It’s a whole less stressful to just go with the flow πŸ™‚

  1. I find those on line menus harder to read. I’d prefer regular menus. But, I can use my phone if I need to πŸ™‚ To sit on the patio at a beachy seafood restaurant I would use my phone!

  2. I noticed a sign like that while waiting for take out at our local diner. Not sure my phone has the ability to do it. They’ve been using something like this in China for a few years now. At least at our diner the owner is still there. I’ve got a fondness for places where you get to know the owners. Maybe it’s my small town origins.
