  1. I am glad you found this fruit. I love it and yes, any kind of oil can be used to cut the fruit to take out the seeds. The flesh of the surrounding the hard pit is delicious or some say an acquired taste as it can be strong smelling to others.
    The hard pit or seed is edible after you boil it too in salt water. Say 20 minutes and the hard pit is like a nut. Enjoy the fruit. My mum just gave me 2 boxes of deshelled jackfruit as our stores sell it ready to eat😄

      1. Go for. No need coconut oil. Usual corn oil, canola or ordinary cooking oil will wipe off the sap. Have a piece of rag to wipe off the sticky sap on knife and re grease the knife each cut and it will be ok. Tell me the experience after. Enjoy
