Today was a big day for me. To be more specific the twelfth day after my second Covid-19 vaccination. With a bit of anxiety and some mixed messages about immunity, I could not wait any longer to spend a day with my Grand-daughter.

We rode together in my car and held hands. Then to top it all off, we had lunch in a restaurant. Not on a patio, but indoors, in a booth at Betty Bombers in Savannah.

We social distanced and wore our masks, and I had my Clorox wipes ready to clean the table.
I still jumped every time I heard someone nearby cough, but the laughs we had on our girls day out was a delight.
I am officially back in the Grandmothers club!
Friends, I hope and pray that better days are ahead for all of us.
Thanks for visiting ๐

I’m so envious. Our next batch of vaccines has been withheld by the countries where it is made but hopefully we should see more coming in the next couple of weeks. At 68 I won’t be in the next group to receive the shots. Canada has been criticized for ordering more than we need. We offered to open labs to make the vaccine here but all the manufacturers said the facilities were too small and weren’t interested. We’ve started to build a facility here anyway which will be ready for the next pandemic. Interestingly we manufactured the polio vaccine up here back in the 50s but the conservative government a few years back shut that facility down. I’m looking forward to having the shots hopefully by May and then I too can enjoy a girls’ day out with my own granddaughter and hopefully soon after get to meet my other granddaughter who turned one a few weeks ago.
I hope it all works out for you real soon. It will take a while to adjust back to normal but itโs a start.
Awesome news! We need to connect with others, so glad you can spend time with your dear granddaughter. And I’m with you. Praying daily for good things ahead ๐๐ป๐
