Portland, Oregon
The nation’s fifth largest performing arts center is the Portland’5 Centers for the Arts. It brings more than 1,000 music, theater, dance, and lecture performances to Portland each year.

The Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall is a restored 1920’s cinema treasure. Opening in 1923 as the Portland Publix Theater. In 1928 it became the Paramount and featured a Wurlitzer organ.
When the building opened it was described as a “palace like” playhouse. The theater was renovated in 1983. The renovations included adding a new entrance. They also added roomier seating for 2776 people. Safety measures were provided for visitors and performers. The ornate interior underwent repairing, replacing and recasting.

The concert hall is located at 1111 Broadway in downtown Portland, Oregon.
I absolutely love theater doors. I’m glad you included the ticket booth. This must be a magical place. Thanks for joining us, Alice!
What a historic place! Hopefully, it will continue on for years to come.
