Granite Rocks to assist with erosion

After Hurricane Dora hit the island in 1964, President Lyndon B. Johnson toured the island. Realizing that damage was worse than he expected, he provided federal funding to restore some damage. The rocks were brought in to assist with erosion of the shoreline. Thus, being called “Johnson rocks”
