Marine Corp Recruit Depot-Parris Island South Carolina
At Parris Island in South Carolina there is a replica of the Iwo Jima monument. The original is located in Arlington County, Virginia. The monument is based on the image of a flag being raised on the Island of Iwo Jima, a battle in World War II.
The statue was erected in 1952, and acts as a back drop for photos of many Marine Corp graduates.
