Hunting Island State Park-South Carolina
Warm autumn days with low humidity are perfect for a coastal walk. As my grandsons fished on the Hunting Island Pier, my granddaughter and I took a mile walk to the “boneyard”.
Through the forest, over the marsh and onto the beach with its crashing waves provides scenery gifted by nature.
The “boneyard ” is located on the south end of Hunting Island State Park. The crashing waves, and wind storms have toppled forest trees due to erosion.

The bones at the north end of the island were removed a few years back. To easily access the trail you can park at the Nature Center and pier.

Thanks to Jo for hosting Monday walk and thanks to all of you for stopping by 🙂

Thank you for the story. Our family has camped at Hunting Island State Park the last 5 years now and always look forward to taking the nature walk out the Boneyards.
This place looks so amazingly wonderful
