Charleston South Carolina Historic District
The American Theater is Charleston South Carolina was opened in 1942. Located on King Street in the Historic district the theater opened as a “premier movie house”. Newly weds can have the red carpet experience and see their names in lights while using the nostalgic movie house for their wedding venue. The theater was named in honor of service men and women serving during World War II.
