Entrance To The Public Corridor

Brunswick Georgia City Hall

Built-in 1902 as a US Post Office and Customs House, by James Knox Taylor Architect.

Brick archway framing the entrance

The building itself sits prominently on the corner of Gloucester and Union Streets in the Historic Area. The arched entrance with the ornate ceiling tile and brick columns is quite impressive. But I found the concrete rail surrounding the roof, skylights, and the cupola are amazing.

Brunswick Georgia is a coastal community located between Savannah Georgia and Jacksonville Florida. For travelers, it is an easy exit off Interstate 95 and offers a great choice of restaurants and lodging. Or if you’re adventurous and like to check out the historic sites, an alternate route would be US Ocean Hwy 17.

  1. That’s a beautiful entrance! The building is amazing. I love the details in the brick around the windows, as well as the other architectural details.
