Yemassee South Carolina
Located thirty miles from Marine Corp Training Depot at Parris Island, South Carolina. Yemassee Junction served as the receiving station for an estimated one half million soldiers during a 50 year period. It holds its place in history with a recent addition of art work by Sophie Docalavich. “Where Heroes Stood” was dedicated in 2019.
That second mural is quite stunning. The first one looks a bit sad, needs a touch-up to bring it to life.
