With the local waters getting stirred up from hurricane Dorian, thoughts of fresh shrimp easily come to mind. They’re fairly easy to prepare, just pop the heads off, pull the main vein out and boil them with or without the shell on.

Once cooked if you like them a bit spicy, there are a variety of recipes for cocktail sauces. This one is locally made on St. Helena Island in Beaufort County where the shrimp are netted.
