Folklore in the Southern US has it that in order to keep unwanted spirits away from your home the ceilings of the porch, doors or trim may be painted “haint” blue. The traditions carries on today as seen in the photos of these recently built homes in South Carolina.
Beaufort South Carolina is a coastal community with homes in their historic district commonly following the long time tradition.
