I never hesitate to say “yes” to a last minute invite for a weekend get away. Without the baggage cluttering my mind , I have free time to wander and notice all the great surroundings.
Visiting New York City without the “what to see and where to go” pamphlet is great fun on its own.
I just let my old people watching, pizza eating, window shopping self take some not so picture perfect photos to share with all of you.
My parents had a house rule when I was growing up that was quite simple, if we did not go to church on Sunday morning we spent the day inside. From that kind of upbringing I have become a fairly spiritual person.
I pray everyday and for the most part I keep a good “mind file” sorted by the urgency of one’s situation of who gets on my daily list.
My heart prays sincerely with compassion for those in need.
So, now that I am a social media junkie I started sorting the requests into two categories, to keep the list within reason. I call them prayers and good vibes. Separating them gives me a courteous response to avoid offending anyone and it also reduces my anxiety of being the one to jam the Holy airwaves.
A few that have been sent to the “good vibes” file include prayers requested by:
The Mom who wanted a miraculous cure for her sick child one morning so she could make her 10 am hair appointment
A friend trying to get to a higher level in Candy Crush
A friends daughter finding the perfect prom dress
A shopper who wanted a shorter check out line
Someone looking for a good Mall parking space
A neighbor asking for a new detached garage
and many other things that are within our own control and part of day to day life.
For all those trivial requests I am grateful that God was on the minds of these good souls.
Peace and happiness friends
Ok …who else has them?
My Mom always kept a glass of water next to her bed because she said that would keep good spirits around
She also said that spirits only hang around good people….
I saw my first ghost when I was about 7… I woke up and a group of people were looking down at me from my bedroom ceiling…I ‘ve never forgot what they all looked like and I’m glad they came because the house spooked me up until that night, after that I could go upstairs by myself
And the little girl at the foot of my bed…many times and not attached to any specific home or city . She just follows me around , still can’t figure out what that’s all about
And Grandma…whenever I dream of her when I wake my house smells like her all day…She always wore Jergens (almond scent)…
Even my hubby.. had me call the builder of our home to ask what he knew about the land because he said a child was bugging him in the garage and kitchen at night…And when it finally stopped , I thought that’s not good
And I ve had home owners sell a house because they claim a ghost disrupted their lives…not anything bad things just annoying
And I ve had home buyers ask for a specific house because they wanted to be close to the spirit of a deceased person who previously lived in a home or died nearby a home
So be happy, kind, lovable , generous and all else good and you never know who might just pop in…
Three weeks ago I was working online for several hours. My left leg just above my knee started itching and swelling. I shook the blanket off that the laptop was resting on and thought I must have been bit by a spider. Later that evening I noticed a welt on my right wrist, I shrugged it off as a clever little bug. After a few days I noticed these areas became dark and still stayed itchy. I applied Calamine and Benadryl lotion, and nothing helped.
Here I am weeks later and I am scarred, and still slightly itching. It finally dawned on me while working again in the same manner that these are burns. It didn’t hurt or sting and I did not feel the heat.
It’s scary to me because I can only imagine what is happening to our ears and head with the phone up against them all the time….

Just by chance I stumbled upon a Walmart gift card in my desk drawer. I called the 800 number on the back and found out I had an $8.00 balance. So, I decided to take a look through my old wallets stored away and sure enough before I finished up I found a total of $102.00 in unused cards and a un-cashed lottery ticket.
Finders Keepers…Just in time for the Holiday weekend…
I’m not sure at what point my life changed from sitting at a school desk waiting for the arms on the clock to move, to saying ” I’ll just have to get to that tomorrow,” because my day is over.
Don’t believe it when you hear “they’ll come a time in your life that you can slow down”. No matter how slow I walk, or lessen the commitments I make, the time just keeps ticking faster and faster.
It almost makes sense that five hours of sleep at middle age is all that is necessary to have a good day. Maybe nature throws in the few extra hours of wake time to compensate for the acceleration of minutes, and hours.
When I sit down and take a moment to look back on the years past that are packed full of joyful memories, it seems those visions fade out the not so good times. I’ve concluded that the moment that I am in now is exactly where I want to be, and I’m thankful for this content feeling.
For those of you that have many past years my wish for you is that you are “smelling the roses”. For those who are still daydreaming my wish for you is that the path you lay out for your life will be a very happy journey.
