Walk On The Sunny Side

Downtown Buffalo,New York

December is not my favorite time to visit my snowy home town. Although it could be worse like a major blizzard and below zero. Just a few flurries today with below freezing temperatures actually was invigorating. My biggest worry was a fall due to icy sidewalks but I took it slow and stayed on the sunny side as much as possible. That is what my grandfather advised when I was a child. I walked from my hotel to the public library to look up some local archives.

So here I am all bundled up:

A woman dressed warmly in a pink coat and scarf stands in a snowy downtown Buffalo, New York, with historic buildings in the background.

As the sun comes out it gets slippery and slushy:

At the turn of the 20th century the city was one of the wealthiest in America. It is easy to see in the rich architecture of the past.

Some of the old gets mixed with new:

Old and new buildings side by side at the metro station and like most urban areas, public art contributes its flare.

But my feet stayed warm in my furry boots as I finally arrived at the library. That’s where I picked up my pace to visit a new place.

Have a happy day and thanks for stopping by !
