The mural is located on the side of an old gas station in the West Lewisville neighborhood in Jacksonville, Florida.
Jesse L. Brown (born October 13, 1926, Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He died December 4, 1950, in North Korea. Ensign Brown fought racism in the military. He became the first African American to finish naval flight training. He served as an aviator. Information provided by Britannica.
