Several times we drove by the construction site of this highly popular restaurant. The sign announcing the name was familiar to me. I remembered seeing this vibrant painted restaurant in the Portland area.
In 2017 three childhood friends with a folding table and a portable fryer cooked hot chicken late into the night. A dream began in an East Hollywood parking lot. People stood in lines around the block to enjoy the juicy, spicy chicken.

For those that prefer a milder taste there are levels of heat to choose from. I ordered the “lite mild”, just to give it a little kick and not taste bland.
The owners posted the story of their humble beginnings in the dining area. It is inspiring and hopefully will encourage anyone to give a simple idea a try.
