Hinesville Georgia
The jail is located at 302 South Main Street in Hinesville Georgia. The jail was placed on the National Register of Historic places in 1992. It was used until 1970 when it was auctioned off and sold to the Liberty County Historical Society for $4500.00. Tours are available by contacting the Hinesville Downtown Development Authority. There is no admission fee.

Very handsome building
Thank you for a pleasant visit. Sure does not look like a rathole to me. Nice and sturdy, with strong window “burglar bars”. These, however, were intended to keep bad guys in, not out.
