Beaufort South Carolina
“More than 40 years before English settlers came to the New World, Spanish adventurers created an empire of explorers across North and South America, including a city named Santa Elena that would last 21 years. Its remnants sit on today’s Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island. Just 6 percent of the historic site has been excavated.”

The painted bench is so pretty I don’t think I’d sit on it. St. Elena’s looks very interesting, a pleasant place to explore.
Beautiful bench! I went to boot camp there in 1984. 😊
Yo may have crossed paths with my hubby
I was at PI from July-September. Men & women were pretty much segregated. When was he there?
I have to check that can’t remember
Mosquito time
Yes it was and hot! 🥵 it took me a while to climatize to the humidity. North Texas is a dry heat. I’m used to it now being in Florida for 33 years. 😊
