Standing tall in the center of many small communities stands the Maypole. An old tradition that is celebrated in different regions for many reasons. Some say it causes folks to look up and be grateful to God, or other folks say it’s presented to be grateful for the end of winter. The celebration on May first is opened with festivals and dancers, and is a good time for all.
