One of the uses of a land trust is to protect wildlife habitat, a natural scenic view, historic, agricultural and other specific properties.  An owner may donate or sell the property they would like preserved to a conservation trust.

The Withlacoochee River bank in Dunnellon, Florida is an example of this.
