Hilton Head Island-South Carolina
Oleanders-highly toxic to humans and pets if ingested
Oleanders are hardy low maintenance shrubs, with slender foliage and dainty flowers. The plant contains strong cardiac glycosides that are toxic to ingest. Working with the plant can cause skin and eye irritations while pruning and trimming. Every part of the plant is poisonous and gardeners should wear gloves and long sleeves to avoid touching the plant.
