Seattle, Washington began as a fishing village inhabited by the Duwamish and Suquamish indigenous people. A deep water harbor that evolved from a glacier, Seattle attracted settlers in the 1850’s for trade and industry.

Seattle’s main industry today is technology, centered around Amazon and Microsoft. Boeing the aerospace giant also remains a regional economic pillar. The Port of Seattle serves the West Coast for global commerce and shipping routes.
The Seattle Great Wheel at Miners Landing:
In 1897 gold prospectors departed from pier 57 creating historical ties to the Klondike Gold Rush.
Pier 59 and 60:
Seattle sits on the shoreline of the Puget Sound, an inlet of the Pacific Ocean. It is one hundred miles long and runs along the coast of the state of Washington.
