Portland Airport Expansion: A Timber Showcase

After nine years of construction, the expansion and renovation of the airport is finished. Travelers will experience a showcase of natural light. They will see live trees and plants and video walls. All of this is under a 9-acre timber roof.

The roof materials was provided by local land owners, tribal lands, and community forests. It is a tribute to the Pacific Northwest’s forestry heritage.

The video walls offer a 24 hour art show near the security checkpoint.
