A great way to get a fresh taste of summer is to pick the berries yourself. My grandsons and I enjoyed the afternoon in the fields filling up the wagon.
Shuksan strawberries are large, bright red and excellent for eating. Mary’s Peak are medium to large size with a deep red color.
The scent of the berries put a fruity smell in the air, it was delightful.
The chicken coop was full of life greeting all the visitors.
The apples are green, but depending on the variety will be available starting late August.
Left alone the boys filled a wagon full of berries. They did all the work as I walked the farm and market. But I’m not off the hook, because they will relax while I bake 🙂
