“Laurence Connell immigrated from Ireland and arrived in Savannah in 1837. He was a shopkeeper and held a number of public offices, both elective and appointive. Constable, Magistrate or Justice of the Peace, Port Harden, Notary, member of the Board of Health and Chief Pailiff of the County Court. Indications are that he left Savannah in 1890.
