The Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge is at the headwaters of the Suwannee and St. Mary’s Rivers. It is world renowned for its amphibian populations. The refuge has over 350,000 acres of wilderness. It also provides a habitat for many endangered species including the indigo snake and the wood stork.
