The building is now home to a renowned Sushi restaurant.

Andrew Carnegie, a Scottish-American Industrialist, provided grants to fund libraries between 1883-1919. For a community to obtain a grant, it had to meet certain criteria, including a need, provide a site, and, more importantly, secure a fund to maintain the library.
