Penny candy, nuts, and colorful bubble gum found their way to these self-service machines. I’ll admit to constantly twisting the butterfly knob with a bit of pressure in hopes of getting a big payout.

I haven’t seen a machine like that in a long time. I remember them lining the entryway to stores like K-Mart and Walgreen’s when I was young. The pop of bright red is fun to see!
