On July 3, 2021, The Gullah Museum of Hilton Head Island will be celebrating its grand re-opening. After a year-long closure in anticipation of a celebration new art murals have been placed along with the fencing in front of the site.
Using art to tell the story of the Gullah culture was done in partnership with the Hilton Head Island office of cultural affairs in its “Community Creates Initiative” program.

A big thanks to the artists who created this beautiful mural, Amiri Farris, Tony Burns, and Beverly Bynum.

This is a great example of what defines public art — to highlight the culture of the people who live in the area! I’ve always wanted to visit Georgia — as I have cousins there.
