Boys and Girls Club-Community Mural Project
Muhammad Ali took up boxing at the age of 12 years old. He went on to win the World. boxing Association’s heavyweight title three times.
Ali is considered the greatest boxer of all time. Those too young to remember his fights have likely heard some of his famous sayings:
“I’m so mean I make medicine sick”
“Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee”
“Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth”
“if they can make penicillin out of moldy bread, they can sure make something out of you”
Muhammad Ali had a total of 61 fights with 56 wins, 37 knock outs and 5 losses.
The mural was created as a community project, with people of all ages invited to paint.
The artist Lauren Andreu designed the mural as a “paint by numbers” project. This is one of the murals in her series “For the Cause of Peace and Brotherhood”.
