Pin Point

Savannah Georgia-

Along the marsh in Coastal Georgia is the small fishing community of Pin Point.

After walking on the trails of Skidaway Island we planned to visit the Pin Point Heritage Museum located in the former A.S. Varn and Son oyster and crab company.  The museum was closed but we walked around the marshside site and admired the incredible view of Shipyard Creek looking toward the Atlantic Ocean.

The museum highlights the Gullah/Geechee heritage and the work of the fisherman and workers of the oyster and crab company.

The lifeblood of Pin Point-The Marsh

This culturing rich site is a peek into the past. The buildings and murals tell the story of fishing for the delicacies of the sea.  Coastal colors of the buildings blend with the elements of nature giving visitors a feeling of ease.

When visiting the Savannah area it’s fun to get out and explore the coastline.  This community has a past and present to be very proud of.
