Cross the Cooper River in Charleston

Mount Pleasant South Carolina-War Memorial

I looked into my photo archive to find a spring walk to post since this past week has been downtime due to the cold season, and the cough medicine.

And everyone seems to enjoy Charleston South Carolina, and this is an area outside of the historical district.

Cross over the Cooper River on the Ravenel Bridge from Charleston and visit Patriot Point, the USS Yorktown, and the War Memorial.  There is a welcome area, walkways, souvenir shop, and a walkout pier.

In recognition of Presidents Day, this is on the monument at Patriots Point

Fishing is allowed on the pier

You can then follow South Carolina Hwy 703 from Mount Pleasant to Sullivans Island, about 6 miles.  There you can enjoy nature, history (Fort Moultrie) and enjoy fresh seafood at a local eatery.

Happy trails friends 🙂

  1. Sorry about the cold, Alice! Doesn’t seem to matter where you live- no-one’s immune, are they? Nice area, though! Thanks for linking. 🙂 🙂
