Let’s Play Ball

Springfield, Georgia-Clarence E. Morgan Complex-Effingham County Georgia

A new community sports complex is a great way to bring hours of enjoyment to its residents. Activities such as baseball, walking trails, and playgrounds offer health benefits and social gatherings.  A straight forward effort of the citizens, its leaders, business sponsors, grants and a hometown baseball champion mixed together was just what it took to get one in a county outside of Savannah Georgia.

The world series champion Houston Astros, outfielder Josh Reddick donated $1million dollars through his foundation.  The Josh Reddick Stadium features handicapped-accessible dugouts at a ground level giving all children an opportunity to play.

Effingham County had a solid recreation department for many years with parks and ballfields situated throughout the area. A good rated school system and a lifestyle of both town and country increased the population in the past years. After three years of discussions in 2017, the opening ribbon was cut.

Clarence E. Morgan is a former teacher, coach, and director of the recreation and parks department.

  1. Great reds. And love to see these guys give back to the community as I think their salaries are outrageous.
