Good Riddance Day 2018

Times Square, New York City

TS

Another Christmas has come and gone. As the new year approaches, I prepare by lightening the load and diving into the chores I procrastinate about doing all year.  A personal favorite tradition of mine is celebrating Good Riddance Day.  My paper shredder is plugged in and ready to go.
After all the items that a trash picker might find valuable become dust, I start on the chores.
I’ll clean out my pantry, change my vacuum filter, then climb a ladder to clean the clothes dryer vent on the back of the house.

Next,  I’ll relax with a cup of tea and start deleting social media acquaintances and updating my contact list. Friends that know me well anxiously check on the 29th to see if they make the cut.  Without giving away to many secrets,  I like everyone so it’s a quick task.

Tomorrow is the day, December 28th, and if you happen to be in the New York City area you can celebrate with others at Times Square between 12-1PM

I’m not going to complain much about 2018, for the most part, it was good.
Looking forward to the New Year and enjoying all of your company.

Warm wishes

Alice

  1. what a brilliant idea, I love the idea of a Good Riddance Day . . . may have to do the same when we are back in the UK. We have so little here in Portugal that there is nothing to say goodbye to, well apart from the art on the walls. Really not keen on what is there!!
