“Time to eat “Oysters”

IMG_9457

The May River in coastal South Carolina is known for their delicious seafood and Oyster beds.  Oysters are harvested in the winter months and local restaurants feature this dish served in a variety of ways.  For those who eat them raw, just plain or with a splash of lemon and hot sauce, the oyster may still be alive.  For food safety, they should be shucked and eaten immediately.

Otherwise, you may enjoy them steamed, baked, or cooked in a stew.

If you happen to be visiting the area, the great food and friendly folks at Bluffton Oyster is a good place to have a bite to eat.

Exit 195 at South Carolina exit 8 and follow 278 East, it’s about a 20-minute drive from that exit.  Easily accessible to Savannah Georgia and Charleston South Carolina
