Shoo-fly-Painted porch ceilings

The front porch in historic times and today allow for a friendly gathering place. While sipping sweet tea in a rocking chair in the southern USA take a minute to “Look-Up” at the colorful ceilings.  It is said that some of the subtle colors are believed to ward off unwanted spirits, and some believe it is an insect deterrent.

Whatever the reason it is a good decorating tip

Warm wishes

  1. The light blue is a Gullah tradition for warding off evil spirits. Very prevalent here in Charleston. Great choices for the challenge
