This 50-year-old stump of a white pine tree continued to have a purpose after its own life was over. It is the foundation and support for a yellow birch tree growing through it.
We can think of ourselves in the same way. We know our time will come to leave this life. During our journey, if we plant our roots deep with generosity, love and kindness maybe we will branch out to others. Through our good deeds, we will leave an everlasting embrace.
