With 22 squares for visitors to walk below the moss draped live oaks, Savannah’s squares offer walkers a few minutes rest on tour of this beautiful city. Today we will look at two squares and close by doors.
Madison Square
General William Tecumseh Sherman used the Green Meldrim House from December 22, 1864 until February 1, 1865. On December 21, 1864 Sherman captured Savannah completing his campaign ” The march to the sea”. The house is a National Historic Landmark.
